We research.
We research and develop for the causes that inform Europe's social and digital strategic initiatives. We call it applied policy. Where the EU sets a position, we follow it with action and participation, not just commentary. Some markets need an actor that is void of ill intent, and that is the part we are built to play.
We build.
We measure ourselves by the strategic outcomes of policy, not by what we ship. The EU wants more home-grown technology built on open source, so we build the reference implementation and the standards new European innovators can build with. The work is open access, there to drive innovation across Europe.
We steward.
We steward open standards so markets stay competitive and efficient. The very basics stay open source, always. Builders can take them further. Consumers get a clean fallback that just works. This is how we set the standard for transparency, privacy and innovation.
We open.
Public by default. We do not sell data and we never will. Every product meets GDPR and the wider EU rules on data and security, from day one and without exception. Privacy, transparency and data protection are built into the product itself, not a setting you have to go and find.
